InnoSI(www.innosi.eu) is a large pan-European research project on Social Investment policies funded by the European Commission. The InnoSI research project reports on case studies from throughout Europe.
One conclusion is already clear: every place is different and so is every person. So a rich diversity of local organisations is needed. These organisations should be embedded in places people live and know the challenges they face to provide the right services, in the right place, at the right time. "One size fits all" does not work any longer.
Research shows the value of flexible, long-term community engagements based on the power of "listening without agenda" and catalysing bottom-up action for residents.
